CineEco – Environmental Film Screening at Celorico da Beira Cultural Centre

· Linhares da Beira

The Celorico da Beira Cultural Centre hosts an environmental film screening as part of the CineEco festival extension, with free showings of educational short and medium-length films on ecological themes.

On May 29, 2026, the Celorico da Beira Cultural Centre hosts another screening session as part of the CineEco extension — the International Environmental Film Festival of Serra da Estrela. This initiative brings a selection of short and medium-length films from the 2025 festival's official selection to the municipality, with completely free admission.

The programme for this session includes three educational works: "Talhados na Pedra", "Ex.Tract, Humans Build the Biggest Nests" and "White House Effect". These documentaries address pressing environmental issues, seeking to raise awareness and promote reflection on humanity's impact on the planet and ecological best practices.

CineEco is one of the most prestigious environmental film festivals in the Iberian Peninsula, held annually in Seia, in the heart of the Serra da Estrela. Through its extension programme, the festival brings its best productions to various locations across the region, democratising access to quality documentary cinema.

The Celorico da Beira Cultural Centre is located at Rua Sacadura Cabral, nº 39, approximately a 10-minute drive from the historic village of Linhares da Beira. For tourists visiting Linhares, this free film screening offers a unique opportunity to discover international documentaries about environment and sustainability in a welcoming cultural space.

Combining a daytime visit to the historic village of Linhares da Beira — with its imposing medieval castle and stunning views over the Serra da Estrela — followed by a free environmental film session in the evening, makes for a complete day of cultural tourism in the region.
