Bragança Granfondo 2026
The largest cycling challenge in north-eastern Portugal returns to Bragança on 12 July 2026, with three routes crossing Montesinho Natural Park and the Spanish border. An open event for all fitness levels, set in the breathtaking landscapes of Trás-os-Montes.
The Bragança Granfondo 2026 takes place on Sunday, 12 July 2026, with the official start at 09:00 from the Pavilhão Municipal de Bragança. Organised by BIKESERVICE, this is one of Portugal's most iconic cycling events, celebrating the passion for two wheels amid the extraordinary natural scenery at the heart of Trás-os-Montes.
Riders can choose from three distances suited to different fitness levels: the Minifondo (60 km), the Mediofondo (90 km), and the demanding Granfondo (125 km). The routes cross the stunning Montesinho Natural Park, passing through historic villages such as França, Guadramil and Rio de Onor — voted one of the Seven Wonders of Portuguese Villages — and crossing the border to the Spanish town of Puebla de Sanabria.
The event has a total capacity of 1,500 participants spread across the three distances. Registration starts at €43 for licensed cyclists and €47 for non-federated riders, with a minimum age of 15 for the shorter routes and 19 for the Granfondo. Bib pickup takes place on 11 July from 10:00 to 19:30, and on race-day morning from 07:00 to 08:30 at the Pavilhão Municipal.
More than a competition, the Bragança Granfondo is a celebration of Trás-os-Montes cycling culture, regional gastronomy and the warm hospitality of north-eastern Portugal. Participants enjoy a well-run event with professional timing, refreshment stations along the entire route and a festive atmosphere at start and finish. It is a unique opportunity to discover breathtaking landscapes at the rhythm of nature.
