A'NORTE Festival 2026 in Santana

· Santana

The A'NORTE Festival returns to Santana from 13 to 15 August 2026, with Portuguese pop-rock band Delfins confirmed for the opening night. Three days of music and entertainment on Madeira's north coast, organised by the Municipality of Santana.

The A'NORTE Festival returns to the town of Santana, on Madeira's dramatic north coast, on 13, 14 and 15 August 2026. Organised by the Municipality of Santana, this summer festival has become one of the highlights of the cultural calendar in the north of the island, drawing locals, returning emigrants and travellers keen to experience Madeira beyond Funchal.

The first big name confirmed for the 2026 edition is Delfins, who open the festival on the night of 13 August. The legendary Portuguese pop-rock band, fronted by Miguel Ângelo, is behind timeless hits such as “Nasce Selvagem”, “Baía de Cascais”, “Sou Como Um Rio” and “Ao Passar um Navio” — songs guaranteed to have the whole crowd singing along. Further acts will be announced by the town hall through its social media channels and the Santana Municipal Agenda.

More than just a music festival, A'NORTE is a celebration of the identity of the Santana municipality, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve famous for its traditional thatched-roof houses. In previous editions, the event has combined concerts by national and regional artists with street entertainment, local food and the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere typical of Madeiran summer festivals and arraiais.

For anyone visiting Madeira in August, the festival is a perfect excuse to explore the north coast: the Caldeirão Verde and Balcões levada walks, the Madeira Theme Park, the Rocha do Navio nature reserve and spectacular Atlantic viewpoints are all within easy reach of the town centre. Booking accommodation early is strongly recommended, as August is high season and the festival brings many visitors to the area.

The full programme, schedules and any access conditions will be published by the Municipality of Santana. For more information, contact the town hall on (+351) 291 570 200 or by email at [email protected], or check the Santana Municipal Agenda online. Save the dates: from 13 to 15 August 2026, northern Madeira is the place to be.
