Vinhais Duathlon – Northern Youth Championship
The duathlon returns to Vinhais on May 10th, as part of the Portuguese Triathlon Federation's Northern Youth Championship. This open event combines running and cycling through the stunning landscapes of Northeastern Trás-os-Montes.
On May 10, 2026, Vinhais once again hosts one of the most emblematic events on the regional triathlon calendar with the Vinhais Duathlon, part of the Portuguese Triathlon Federation's Northern Youth Championship.
This competition, which features on the official calendar of the Portuguese Triathlon Federation for the Northern region, combines two running segments with a cycling segment, challenging athletes to race through the roads and paths of Vinhais and its surroundings. The course crosses some of the most beautiful landscapes of Northeastern Trás-os-Montes, winding through mountains, forests, and valleys that define this unique region of Portugal.
Although classified as a Northern Youth Championship event, this is an open competition, meaning athletes of all ages and categories can participate. This makes it an excellent opportunity both for young sporting talents and amateur athletes who want to experience an official race in a privileged natural setting.
Vinhais, located in the heart of the Montesinho Natural Park, offers participants and visitors an unparalleled natural environment.
