Ricardo Araújo Pereira brings his first solo stand-up tour, 'Verificando se Você é Humano', to the Centro Cultural e de Congressos of Angra do Heroísmo from 11 to 13 June 2026. Three nights of sharp humour on Terceira Island.
Ricardo Araújo Pereira, Portugal's most acclaimed comedian, takes to the stage of the Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Angra do Heroísmo on 11, 12 and 13 June 2026, at 9:30 pm, with his show 'Verificando se Você é Humano' ('Verifying you are human').
This is his first solo stand-up comedy tour, a milestone in the career of one of the most influential voices of Portuguese-language humour. Known for his time with the comedy troupe Gato Fedorento, the radio show 'Mixórdia de Temáticas' on Rádio Comercial, and his weekly columns in Visão magazine, Ricardo Araújo Pereira now brings a show built from the ground up for the stage.
The title plays with the popular CAPTCHA tests that have become ubiquitous in our relationship with technology. Over the course of roughly an hour, the comedian reflects - always with his trademark sharp wit - on what it means to be human in an era dominated by algorithms, social media and artificial intelligence. Politics, religion, the Portuguese language, current affairs and everyday absurdities all serve as raw material for his critical gaze.
The tour has seen exceptional demand, with sold-out sessions and extra dates being added in several cities and islands. The visit to Terceira Island is part of the Azorean leg of the tour, which also includes São Miguel.
The Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Angra do Heroísmo, housed in the former Convent of São Francisco, is Terceira Island's main cultural venue and offers excellent acoustics and comfort.
