Recria Sines – Creativity and Sustainability Festival 2026

· Sines

The patio of the Centro de Artes de Sines transforms into a space of creative and sustainable discovery from May 15 to 22, 2026. With music, world instruments, upcycling workshops and activities for the whole family, Recria Sines is a celebration of imagination and the environment.

From May 15 to 22, 2026, the patio of the Centro de Artes de Sines hosts Recria Sines, a project integrated into the CRIA'26 programme and the Municipality of Sines' Environmental Education initiative, run by Reciclanda. The event proposes a week-long creative immersion where sustainability meets music, play, and art.

The programme is divided into three thematic areas that coexist in the open-air space: the Bosque da Criatividade (Creativity Forest), where participants are invited to build multisensory objects from repurposed materials; the Instrumenteca, a library of musical instruments from around the world, including instruments made from regional materials; and the Ludoteca, a space for intergenerational games and play that encourages interaction between children and adults.

One of the highlights is the Roda de Tambores (Drum Circle), a participatory percussion project where everyone — regardless of musical experience — sits in a circle and creates collective rhythms together. Another standout feature is the «Music Without Borders» Tents, where instruments from cultures as diverse as Africa, Asia, and Latin America are presented as metaphors for peaceful coexistence and intercultural dialogue.

Monday through Friday, activities are primarily directed at school communities, with organised group visits from students. On Saturdays, the programme opens to families and the general public, making Recria Sines an accessible event for visitors of all ages who happen to be in Sines that weekend.

Admission is free, and the event fits perfectly into the municipality's vision of fostering a creative, environmentally aware, and open-minded culture — values that align with the cosmopolitan spirit of Sines, birthplace of explorer Vasco da Gama.
