Arcos de Valdevez will host the inaugural Rampa Senhora do Castelo on May 23–24, 2026, a brand-new automotive event organised by Viana Motor Clube with the support of the Municipality of Arcos de Valdevez.
Unlike traditional speed competitions, the Rampa Senhora do Castelo is deliberately non-competitive in nature, focused on the pleasure of driving and the appreciation of the surrounding landscape. The route unfolds across seven kilometres of asphalt set within the natural scenery of Alto Minho, with mountain ranges and the Vez River valley as a stunning backdrop.
The event aims to offer participants a controlled and safe driving experience, where speed gives way to contemplation and the sheer joy of motoring. It is a celebration of classic and sports cars in one of the most privileged natural settings in northern Portugal.
For spectators and tourists, the event is equally compelling: watching vehicles climb the hillside towards the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Castelo, with views over Arcos de Valdevez's historic townscape, is a truly memorable experience. Combining the event with a visit to the historic town centre, the Vez riverbank and the region's river beaches makes this May weekend a perfect getaway for lovers of nature, culture and motoring heritage.
