Open Doors to Culture in Ericeira

From July 31 to August 2, 2026, the Casa de Cultura Jaime Lobo e Silva in Ericeira becomes the epicentre of creativity and community engagement with the "Cultura de Portas Abertas na Ericeira" (Open Doors to Culture) initiative. Promoted by Mafra Municipality, this free event invites residents and visitors to experience art in a completely open and interactive way, extending into the first days of August with continuous programming throughout the weekend.

Unlike a traditional exhibition format, this initiative was designed so the public is never a mere spectator. Over the three days, the venue hosts live music performances, visual arts and live acts, alongside a range of hands-on workshops for all ages, from children to adults, fostering shared experiences around local cultural identity.

The Casa de Cultura Jaime Lobo e Silva, named in honour of the Ericeira-born historian and musician, is one of the reference cultural hubs in the Mafra municipality, featuring an exhibition gallery, a municipal library and an auditorium.
