Nisa em Festa 2026
The town of Nisa, in the Portalegre district, fills with festivity from 23 to 26 July with its annual celebrations. Four days of concerts, traditions and conviviality in the heart of the Alto Alentejo.
Nisa em Festa 2026 takes place from 23 to 26 July, transforming the town of Nisa, in the Portalegre district, into a great stage of celebration. Organised by the Municipality of Nisa, this annual event combines music, tradition and gastronomy, attracting visitors from across the Alto Alentejo region.
Over four days, the festival grounds host concerts by national artists, street entertainment, activities for all ages and moments dedicated to local traditions. The nights are filled with live music on the main stage, while the town's streets come alive with the usual festive bustle, food and drink stalls, and conviviality between locals and visitors.
Nisa is known for its unique handicrafts — especially its heavy clay pottery inlaid with quartz stone and its famous embroidery — and for its cheeses with Protected Designation of Origin. The festivities are an excellent opportunity to discover these regional products and Alentejo hospitality in a festive, family-friendly atmosphere.
Admission is free for most activities, making this one of the most accessible and popular summer events in the Portalegre district. For those visiting inland Portugal in July, Nisa em Festa is an authentic chance to experience the culture and traditions of the Alto Alentejo. The full programme is released by the Municipality of Nisa in the weeks leading up to the event.
