Part of the Madeira Flower Festival 2026, the Madeira Flower Classic Auto Parade is one of the most original and photogenic moments on the island's calendar. On 10 May 2026, between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM, dozens of classic automobiles — meticulously restored and covered in floral arrangements — parade along Avenida do Mar in Funchal, in a procession that celebrates both the passion for vintage cars and Madeira's floral heritage.
Organised in partnership with the Madeira Classic Car Club, the parade brings together models from various eras: 1950s and 60s convertibles, classic sports cars, luxury vehicles and even a few collector rarities. Each car is decorated by its owner with fresh flowers, creating unique compositions that transform every automobile into a moving work of art.
The event is free for spectators, who can watch from anywhere along Avenida do Mar. Arriving early is recommended, particularly near Cais do Funchal and Praça do Povo, where cars tend to slow down for photos. Many drivers and passengers dress in period attire, adding to the festive atmosphere.
After the parade, several of the cars are displayed in central Funchal, allowing visitors to admire them up close. It's the perfect opportunity to combine an interest in classic vehicles with the springtime beauty of Madeira, in an event that delights families, photographers and motoring enthusiasts alike.
