Língua Terra Festival 2026 — Setúbal

· Arrábida

From 1 to 8 June, Setúbal celebrates Lusophone music with concerts featuring artists from Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique. The festival also includes a film cycle and a visual arts exhibition.

The Língua Terra Festival returns to Setúbal from 1 to 8 June 2026, turning the gateway to Arrábida into Portugal's capital of Lusophone music. This edition gathers leading artists from the Portuguese-speaking world on iconic stages across the city, with the Fórum Municipal Luísa Todi taking centre stage.

The line-up opens on 1 June with Mart'Nália, daughter of Martinho da Vila, joined by Paulinho Moska, both major names of Brazilian Popular Music. On 5 June, Brazilian singer Melly takes the stage with a special guest appearance by Portuguese artist Dino D'Santiago, in a show that bridges the rhythms of the South Atlantic. The same evening features Cape Verdean Eu.Clides with his blend of indie, soul and chanson sounds.

6 June is dedicated to a tribute concert honouring Guinean musician José Carlos Schwarz, with Manecas Costa, Karyna Gomes and Remma Schwarz revisiting the legacy of Cobiana Djazz. On 8 June, Brazilian Tiganá Santana shares the stage with Mayra Andrade (Cape Verde) and Lenna Bahule (Mozambique) in a rare encounter between three Lusophone geographies.

Alongside the concerts, the Casa das Imagens Lauro António hosts a film cycle dedicated to MPB legends, with daily free screenings at 4:00 PM. On 7 June, an exhibition by Guinean painter Sidney Cerqueira opens, extending the festival beyond music.

Setúbal, bathed by the Sado river and just minutes from the Arrábida Natural Park, is the perfect setting to combine culture and nature: enjoy Figueirinha and Galapos beaches during the day and round off the evening with live music at the Fórum Luísa Todi.
