Lamecum Trail 2026
The Lamecum Trail returns to Lamego on June 21, 2026, with 27 km and 16 km races, a 9 km walking route and a Kids Trail. A trail running experience through ancient paths, rural trails and historic areas of the city, featuring stunning Douro landscapes.
On June 21, 2026, Lamego once again hosts the Lamecum Trail, one of the most anticipated trail running events in the Douro region. Part of an extended race circuit, the 2026 edition promises adrenaline, nature and personal challenge, taking participants through technical trails, mountains and landscapes classified as UNESCO World Heritage.
The event offers four categories for different fitness levels and ages:
- Lamecum 27 km – approximately 1,600 metres of positive elevation, for experienced athletes;
- Lamecum 16 km – approximately 950 metres of elevation, ideal for intermediate runners;
- 9 km Walk – accessible route with about 450 metres of elevation;
- Kids Trail – distances between 400 and 1,000 metres for younger participants.
The start and finish line are located in the city of Lamego, with the courses winding through ancient paths, rural trails, forest roads, viewpoints and historic areas. Runners cross traditional villages, terraced vineyards, pine forests and farmland, discovering the rural essence and heritage of the Lamego municipality.
Organisers provide aid stations along the course, medical support, careful trail marking and prizes for the top finishers in each category. Participants also receive an official kit with a technical t-shirt, personalised bib and gifts from local partners.
Registration takes place in three phases, with prices starting at €5 for the Kids Trail, €10 for the walk and €20 for the long races. Prices increase progressively until June 15, 2026, so early registration is recommended to secure a spot and the best price.
After the race, athletes can enjoy hot showers, sports massage and a social lunch for participants and companions. This is a unique opportunity to combine sport, tourism and discovery in one of the most beautiful wine regions in the world, on an unforgettable summer solstice.
