The visit explores how Greek mythology permeates both the work of Luís de Camões and the architectural and landscape design of Regaleira itself, conceived by António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro with set designer Luigi Manini. Gods, heroes and classical narratives come to life throughout the gardens, grottoes, lakes and the famous Initiation Well.
Along the route, guides reveal the connections between classical myths, esotericism, alchemy and freemasonry that inspired the construction of this early 20th-century estate. Each element — from statues to towers, from wells to fountains — holds hidden meanings that take on new dimension when interpreted through classical culture.
