Fátima Sanctuary Summer Courses – 11th Edition
From 1 to 3 July, the Sanctuary of Fátima hosts the 11th edition of its Summer Courses, three days of lectures, reflection and culture on spiritual and contemporary themes. A chance to deepen your understanding in one of Portugal's most symbolic places.
The Summer Courses of the Sanctuary of Fátima return for their 11th edition, taking place from 1 to 3 July 2026. This annual initiative, organised by the Sanctuary, offers three days of lectures, debates and cultural moments addressing spiritual, theological and highly topical social themes, bringing together respected national and international speakers.
Throughout the sessions, participants from across the country and abroad find a privileged space for study and reflection, in a format that combines academic rigour with the pastoral dimension characteristic of Fátima. The courses are aimed at a diverse audience — researchers, students, pastoral workers, pilgrims and the simply curious — interested in reflecting on the contemporary world in the light of spiritual experience.
The lectures are usually held in the Sanctuary's modern auditoriums, integrated into the complex of the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, equipped with simultaneous translation and excellent facilities. Between sessions, participants can visit the main sites of the Sanctuary, such as the Chapel of the Apparitions, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary and the tombs of the shepherd children.
For visitors travelling to Fátima in early July, the Summer Courses offer a different and enriching way to discover the Sanctuary beyond the great pilgrimages. They provide a window into the intellectual and cultural life that animates this place, in an atmosphere of open dialogue and hospitality.
Visitors are advised to consult the detailed programme and registration conditions in advance on the Sanctuary's official website, as some sessions may require prior registration. The town of Fátima offers a wide range of accommodation and dining options, making it easy to stay for the full three-day programme.
