Capuchos Music Festival 2026 – Loves & Humors
The Capuchos Music Festival returns to Almada for its sixth consecutive edition, dedicated to the theme "Loves & Humors". Outstanding concerts with national and international artists are spread across the Convento dos Capuchos, Teatro Municipal Joaquim Benite, Auditório Fernando Lopes-Graça and, for the first time, an open-air opera gala at Parque da Paz.
The Capuchos Music Festival returns in 2026 for its sixth consecutive edition since its resurgence in 2021, reaffirming Almada as the stage for one of the most important cultural events in the country. Under the theme "Loves & Humors", the festival proposes a musical journey inspired by the duality and complementarity between "loves" in their multiple forms, human and spiritual, and "humors" crossing irony, satire, fantasy and laughter.
The programme runs from 23 May to 24 June 2026, with concerts at the historic Convento dos Capuchos, the festival's home, and also at other emblematic venues in the city, such as the Teatro Municipal Joaquim Benite and the Auditório Fernando Lopes-Graça. For the first time, the festival presents an open-air opera gala at Parque da Paz, bringing classical music to a unique natural setting.
Highlights include concerts with the Orchestre de Paris "Consuelo", the Leipzig String Quartet, the Mnozil Brass brass septet, the Metropolitan Orchestra of Lisbon, the Officium Ensemble choir, the DSCH Schostakovich Ensemble, the German vocal group SLIXS, and pianists such as Eldar Nebolsin, Nuno Vieira de Almeida and Júlio Resende, among many other prestigious international names.
To promote democratic access to culture, the festival offers two free-entry concerts and maintains accessible prices between 5 and 25 euros, with discounts and subscriptions available. It is a unique opportunity to discover Almada through music, in a journey that crosses historical heritage, landscape and artistic excellence.
