CA Vilar de Mouros Festival 2026: Yungblud, Kasabian & Ben Harper

· Caminha

Portugal's oldest music festival returns to Vilar de Mouros, Caminha, from August 18–22, 2026. Five days of music featuring Yungblud, The Hives, Dropkick Murphys, Kasabian, Ben Harper and Body Count feat. Ice-T.

CA Vilar de Mouros, Portugal's oldest music festival, returns in 2026 with an extended edition running five days, from August 18 to 22, in the picturesque village of Vilar de Mouros, in the municipality of Caminha. First held in 1971, the festival keeps alive its tradition of bringing rock legends and current acts together in a natural amphitheatre beside the Coura River.

The 2026 line-up spans punk, garage rock, ska, britpop, soul, funk and metal, giving each day its own identity. On August 18, British star Yungblud opens the festival. On August 19, the stage belongs to Dropkick Murphys, Sweden's The Hives and Less Than Jake. August 20 is dedicated to britpop and British rock with Kasabian and Kula Shaker. On August 21, soul and funk take over with Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals and the legendary War. The closing night, August 22, features Body Count feat. Ice-T.

Day tickets cost €55, the four-day pass (August 19–22) costs €130, and the full five-day pass costs €160 — all including access to the campsite (subject to capacity).

More than a festival, Vilar de Mouros is an experience: the Minho village, with its Romanesque bridge and the Coura River winding through green fields, becomes a small city of music for a week. Its proximity to Caminha, the beaches of Moledo and Vila Praia de Âncora, and the Galician border makes this event an excellent anchor for a holiday in the Alto Minho region.

Booking accommodation early is strongly advised — between the festival campsite, local guesthouses in Caminha and options in Viana do Castelo, demand is high in August. Check the festival's official website for tickets and practical information.
