Beliche Jazz 2026 – Sunset Concerts at Forte do Beliche

· Sagres

Perched on the cliffs west of Sagres, Forte do Beliche hosts four jazz concerts across the Saturdays of July, always at 5pm. Organised by Vila do Bispo Council with the Algarve Jazz Orchestra, it offers late-afternoon music facing the Atlantic.

The Beliche Jazz series returns in July 2026 to one of the most spectacular settings in the Algarve: the historic Forte do Beliche, perched on the cliffs west of Sagres in the municipality of Vila do Bispo. A partnership between Vila do Bispo Council and the Algarve Jazz Orchestra, the festival offers four late-afternoon concerts held on consecutive Saturdays, always at 5pm, with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.

The programme opens on 4 July with PanDuo, pairing Ricardo Jesus on alto saxophone and Hugo Santos on double bass. On 11 July the trio of vocalist Cátia Ribeiro takes the stage, joined by Diogo Costa on guitar and Duarte Júlio on double bass. On 18 July, the quartet of Sofia Rodrigues (vocals) performs with Mateus Saldanha on guitar, Thiago Alves on double bass and Nemaja Delic on drums. The series closes on 25 July with the Algarve Jazz Orchestra, welcoming special guests Raul Reyes and Osvaldo Pegudo.

Forte do Beliche is a small 17th-century military stronghold set between the Fortaleza de Sagres and Cape St. Vincent, at one of the most south-westerly points of mainland Europe. The blend of historic heritage, golden late-afternoon light and ocean scenery makes these concerts a unique experience for anyone visiting the Costa Vicentina in summer.

Tickets go on sale from 17 June and can be purchased online via the Ticketline platform or in person at the Vila do Bispo Council treasury, on weekdays between 9am and 3pm. Given the venue's limited capacity, booking in advance is recommended. Arrive early to enjoy the sunset and bring a light layer, as the Atlantic breeze often picks up in the late afternoon.
