Ameixial Summer Fest 2026
Three days of celebration in the heart of the Algarve hills, with live music, DJs, a craft fair, local food and family activities by the Fonte da Seiceira. Free admission.
From 14 to 16 August 2026, the small hillside village of Ameixial, in the municipality of Loulé, once again hosts the Ameixial Summer Fest, one of the most anticipated summer events in the Algarve's inland region. Organised by Grupo Desportivo Ameixialense, with support from the Ameixial Parish Council and Loulé Municipal Council, the festival turns the area around the Fonte da Seiceira into a gathering point for locals, emigrants returning home for the holidays, and visitors seeking a more authentic Algarve away from the coast.
The programme opens on Friday 14th with a craft and local produce fair from 6pm, followed by a guided night mountain-bike ride at 7pm. The food and drink area opens at 8pm, with live music from Valter Cabrita, followed by DJ Carlos Manaça into the early hours.
Saturday 15th is dedicated to families, with inflatable games for children from 3pm, an Aqua Zumba session at 5pm, and DJ sets in the early evening ahead of concerts that run late into the night.
Sunday 16th closes the festival on a more traditional, community-focused note, with a "malha" tournament from 2pm and an afternoon of "games without borders" and popular pastimes from 3pm, bringing together several generations around the customs of the hills.
Throughout the three days there are food stalls serving Algarve snacks, convent sweets and local produce, in a gastronomic showcase that has become one of the event's main draws. Entry is free on all days of the festival.
