The Ponte de Lima Book Fair celebrates its 30th edition from 16 to 19 July 2026 at Expolima. Four days dedicated to books, music, literature and art, with encounters between readers, authors and publishers. An initiative of the Municipal Library.
The 30th Ponte de Lima Book Fair takes place from 16 to 19 July 2026 at the Expolima Exhibition Park. Promoted by the Municipality of Ponte de Lima, this commemorative edition is an initiative of the Municipal Library in partnership with the local bookshop A União, once again establishing itself as a privileged meeting place between readers, authors and publishers.
Over four days, Expolima is transformed into a true territory of words, ideas and culture. Visitors can browse the stands of participating publishers and bookshops, discover literary novelties, find classics and take part in a diverse programme that combines books, music, literature and art.
The Book Fair stands out for its dynamic and inclusive character, with book presentations and launches, conversations with writers, signing sessions, reading-promotion activities for younger visitors and musical moments. It is an event that brings the community closer to books and celebrates the role of reading in the cultural life of the municipality.
Reaching three decades of existence, this fair is firmly established as one of the most anticipated cultural events on the local calendar, bringing together audiences of all ages and reinforcing the bond between culture and the region. Admission is free, inviting families, students and book lovers to take part.
Held in July, the fair coincides with the peak tourist season, giving visitors to Ponte de Lima yet another reason to discover the oldest town in Portugal. Guests can combine their visit to the fair with a stroll through the historic centre, the Roman and medieval bridge, the riverside gardens and the renowned Minho cuisine accompanied by the region's typical Vinho Verde.
