Tasquinhas Sines 2026 Food Festival

· Sines

From July 17 to August 2, Avenida Vasco da Gama becomes a seaside venue of gastronomy and live music. Local associations serve the traditional flavours of Sines overlooking the bay and the fishing port.

The Tasquinhas de Sines food festival returns in 2026 to Avenida Vasco da Gama, from July 17 to August 2, for another edition of the most eagerly awaited gastronomic event of the Sines summer. Organised by the Municipality of Sines, the initiative mobilises local associations and businesses to celebrate the municipality's gastronomic traditions in a privileged setting: the town's waterfront, with sweeping views over the bay and the fishing port.

For more than two weeks, the venue by Vasco da Gama beach fills with food stalls ("tasquinhas") where local sports, cultural and community associations serve the best of regional cooking. It is the right place to try grilled fish fresh from the auction house, seafood petiscos, slow-cooked Alentejo dishes and regional sweets, all at accessible prices and in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, with the sunset over the Atlantic as a backdrop.

Gastronomy is paired with a musical programme that livens up the summer nights. In 2026, from July 22 to 25, entertainment is provided by FMM — Festival Músicas do Mundo, the renowned world music festival that turns Sines into a meeting point of cultures, occupying several stages across town that week, from the castle to the avenue. On the remaining nights, the Tasquinhas line-up continues with concerts and entertainment for all ages, extending the party into early August.

For anyone holidaying on the Alentejo Coast — between the beaches of São Torpes, Praia do Norte or Porto Covo — the Tasquinhas are an essential end-of-day plan: a stroll along the seafront avenue, a dinner of petiscos at the associations' stalls and live music by the sea. Entry is free, you pay only for what you eat and drink, and the event runs in the late afternoon and evening. Its central location, a few steps from the historic centre and the castle where Vasco da Gama was born, makes it easy to combine with a heritage walk around town. Check the Municipality of Sines agenda for each night's musical programme.
