Santa Ana Festivities 2026 - Mogadouro
The traditional Santa Ana Festivities return to Mogadouro between June 25 and July 5, 2026, drawing thousands of visitors to Parque da Vila. One of the largest religious and popular celebrations in the Trás-os-Montes region, featuring fairs, concerts, processions and fireworks.
The Santa Ana Festivities are undoubtedly the largest religious and popular event in the municipality of Mogadouro, mobilizing entire families for generations who return to their hometown to participate in the celebrations in honor of the patron saint.
The 2026 edition takes place between June 25 and July 5 at Parque da Vila, located on Avenida Regimento dos Comandos, in the central area of Mogadouro. Celebrations begin with the opening ceremony and the start of novenas at the chapel of Santa Ana, keeping alive a centuries-old tradition.
The highlight of the festivities takes place on the final weekend, between July 3 and 5, with three intense days of entertainment. Visitors can enjoy parades by typical regional bagpipe groups, popular dinners with Trás-os-Montes gastronomy, concerts with regional and national artists, DJ sets that extend into the night, and a spectacular fireworks display illuminating the Mogadouro sky.
The religious dimension remains central: on Sunday, the solemn mass takes place, followed by the traditional procession, accompanied by the Mogadouro Volunteer Firefighters' band, parading through the decorated streets of the town.
For tourists, this is a unique opportunity to discover the traditions of northeastern Trás-os-Montes, taste local gastronomy — from roasted kid to alheiras sausages and the famous míscaro mushroom — and explore the cultural richness of this borderland territory. The festive atmosphere extends throughout the town, with restaurants, cafes and bakeries offering special programs.
We recommend booking accommodation in advance, given the high influx of visitors during this period. Admission to the festivities is free.
