Oh Meu Deus Ultra Trail 2026

· Seia

The Oh Meu Deus Ultra Trail returns to Seia on June 5, 2026, with epic Serra da Estrela routes including 50, 100 and 160 km distances. One of Portugal's most challenging trail running events.

The Oh Meu Deus Ultra Trail (OMD) is one of Portugal's most acclaimed ultra trail events, returning to Seia on June 5, 2026 for another unforgettable edition. The event's name perfectly captures runners' reactions to the brutal beauty and technical demands of the routes through Serra da Estrela.

The race offers three main distances: the OMD50 at 54 km, the OMD100 at 101.7 km, and the legendary OMD160 at 161.4 km — considered one of the country's toughest ultra trails for its accumulated elevation gain and technical terrain. The routes cross historic villages, plateaus over 1,900 meters above sea level, glacial valleys and endemic vegetation zones.

Seia serves as the event's nerve center, hosting the start area, finish line and athlete support zone. During the race weekend, the town fills with athletes, technical teams and companions, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Aid stations are located at iconic Serra da Estrela sites, and the event maintains high safety and organizational standards.

For non-running visitors, the OMD is an excellent opportunity to discover Seia and Serra da Estrela during the spring-to-summer transition, when temperatures are mild and landscapes are particularly green. Booking accommodation well in advance is recommended, as the region fills up during the event.

Registration is limited and slots typically sell out months in advance. All information about regulations, routes and registration is available on the event's official website.
