Concert Season at the Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa – August

The Classical Music Season at the Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa is one of the Alentejo's most prestigious cultural initiatives, promoted by the Casa de Bragança Foundation. Throughout 2026, ten concerts fill the calendar, always on the last Friday of each month, in a programme that weaves together history, musicological research and performances of the highest quality.

On 28 August 2026, at 9:00 PM, the Chapel of the Ducal Palace hosts another of these evenings, in a setting of rare beauty dating back to the early 16th century, when the palace of the Dukes of Bragança was built. The season's programme highlights classical repertoire performed by renowned musicians, offering a unique acoustic and heritage experience.

Holding a concert in this space means returning to a centuries-old tradition: music has always been intertwined with life at the ducal court of Vila Viçosa.
