SonicBlast 2026 – Psychedelic Rock Festival in Caminha

· Caminha

SonicBlast returns to Praia da Duna dos Caldeirões in Caminha from August 5–8, 2026. Portugal's leading stoner, doom and psychedelic rock festival gathers thousands of fans by the sea, with a warm-up on August 5.

SonicBlast returns to Caminha in 2026, once again confirming its status as Europe's essential meeting point for lovers of psychedelic rock, stoner and doom. The festival's 14th edition takes place at Praia da Duna dos Caldeirões in Moledo, Caminha, on August 6, 7 and 8, 2026, preceded by a warm-up day on August 5.

Organised by Garboyl Lives, SonicBlast has grown from a small niche gathering into an internationally renowned festival, drawing crowds from dozens of countries. The 2025 edition welcomed more than 16,500 attendees and featured acts such as Fu Manchu, Witchcraft, Amenra, Earthless and Circle Jerks — a standard the organisers promise to uphold in 2026, with the line-up being revealed gradually in the months leading up to the event.

What makes SonicBlast truly special is the setting: a festival site nestled between sand dunes and pine forest, just metres from the Atlantic Ocean, with Galicia's Monte de Santa Tecla rising across the Minho River as a backdrop. Between concerts, festival-goers split their time between swims at Moledo beach — famous for its iodine-rich waters and waves — and strolls through Caminha's historic centre, just minutes away.

General passes for the 2026 edition went on sale with prices starting at €75, and camping options next to the festival grounds are usually available. Given growing demand — recent editions have sold out — early purchase is strongly recommended.

For anyone visiting the Alto Minho region in summer, SonicBlast is a unique opportunity to combine world-class heavy and psychedelic music with wild beaches, Minho gastronomy and the laid-back atmosphere of one of northern Portugal's most beautiful towns. Caminha offers varied accommodation, but book well in advance, as the town fills up during festival week.

Check the festival's official website and social media channels for line-up announcements and practical information on access, camping and schedules.
