Santa Cruz Ocean Spirit 2026 - International Wave Sports Festival

The Santa Cruz Ocean Spirit celebrates its 18th edition from July 17-26, 2026, at Santa Cruz Beach in Torres Vedras. Considered one of the largest international wave sports festivals in Europe, the event combines top-level sporting competition with a strong cultural, musical and environmental component.

For ten days, Santa Cruz Beach transforms into a huge open-air stage. The waves host international competitions in surf, skimboard, longboard and bodysurf, with the participation of the best national and international athletes. The atmosphere is relaxed yet professional, attracting both extreme sports enthusiasts and families wanting to watch the competitions up close.

In addition to the competitions, the festival offers an extensive nightly music program with free admission. Concerts by Portuguese and international artists liven up the beach and the fishing village, creating a unique atmosphere that mixes summer sounds with the smell of the sea. The organization also invests in educational and environmental initiatives, with workshops, experimentation sessions and sustainability awareness actions — Ocean Spirit is certified as a Valorsul Eco-event, with special care in waste management.

The Aldeia Neptuno area, set up for the festival, includes food spaces, surf brand shops, a children's area, a pool for experimentation, and the main stage. It's the meeting point for all visitors throughout the event days.

For those visiting the Oeste region in summer, Santa Cruz Ocean Spirit is one of the most striking experiences on the calendar, combining beach, sport, music and local gastronomy in a single destination.
