RAMOT Exhibition — António da Costa Cabral

· Tomar

On view until 18 October 2026, the RAMOT exhibition reveals the photographic work of António da Costa Cabral, 4th Count of Tomar. The show is spread across two of the city's emblematic venues: the Centre for Photography Studies – Casa dos Cubos and the Convento de Cristo.

The RAMOT — António da Costa Cabral exhibition arrives in Tomar and remains on view until 18 October 2026, inviting visitors to discover the photographic work of António da Costa Cabral, 4th Count of Tomar. The touring show carries particular meaning, as the photographer maintained a deep family connection to the city and spent part of his childhood in the Convento de Cristo itself, a place of great importance in his personal and emotional memory.

The exhibition is organised across two complementary venues. At the Centre for Photography Studies of Tomar – Casa dos Cubos, the public can visit Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 18:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 14:00 to 18:00 (closed on public holidays). At the Convento de Cristo, a UNESCO World Heritage monument, the exhibition follows the monument's hours, opening at 9:00 and closing at 18:30, with last admission at 18:00.

The collection brings together a valuable photographic archive documenting a singular view of society, landscape and everyday life of an era, allowing visitors to trace the artistic sensibility of a figure linked to Tomar's history. The exhibition is the result of a collaboration between the Municipality of Tomar, the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar and the Convento de Cristo.

For those visiting Tomar in summer 2026, RAMOT is an ideal opportunity to combine photography, history and heritage. A visit to the Convento de Cristo, with its famous Chapter Window and Templar Charola, gains an added dimension through this show, while Casa dos Cubos, in the historic centre, offers a contemporary space for artistic contemplation beside the Nabão river.
