Festival MED 2026 - Loulé

· Loulé

Festival MED returns to Loulé's historic centre from 25 to 28 June 2026 for its 22nd edition. Four days of world music featuring over 50 concerts on five stages, artists from 30 countries, Mediterranean gastronomy, visual arts and street performances.

The Festival MED 2026 celebrates its 22nd edition from 25 to 28 June, transforming Loulé's historic centre into one of Europe's most important world music stages. Recognised with the EFFE Seal by the European Festivals Association, this festival is organised by Loulé Municipal Council and has become a benchmark in the Portuguese cultural landscape.

The 2026 edition will be the most international ever, with artists from 30 countries sharing five main stages — Matriz, Cerca, Chafariz, Castelo and Hammam — across more than 50 concerts. Confirmed headliners include Goran Bregovic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sérgio Godinho, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 (Nigeria), Salif Keita (Mali), Tiken Jah Fakoly (Ivory Coast), Groundation, Arnaldo Antunes, Mário Lúcio & The Pan African Band, Bonga, Dikanda and Lala Tamar.

Beyond music, the festival offers an extensive cultural programme including street theatre, dance, artisan markets, record fairs, workshops, exhibitions, conferences, visual arts and poetry. The Loulé Municipal Market will be fully integrated into the festival grounds with continuous programming, and the international street food district has been enlarged to offer authentic Mediterranean and world flavours.

The festival grounds have been expanded for this edition, with a new MED Lounge, additional spaces for street performers and a redesigned ticketing system. The CIDADE MED initiative also transforms Loulé's streets with themed decoration and pre-festival activities, energising the local economy in the weeks leading up to the event.

Sunday, 28 June, offers free admission, allowing all visitors to enjoy the closing day of this great multicultural celebration. Tickets for the other days are available through BOL.pt and the festival's official website.
