Trail Guerreiros do Mira returns to Vila Nova de Milfontes for its 2nd edition on May 9, 2026. Organized by the Municipality of Odemira, this trail running event invites participants to practice sport in one of the most beautiful settings in the municipality, between the Mira River and the Atlantic Ocean.
The event offers two participation options: a 15-kilometer short trail for the more athletic and an 8-kilometer walk, accessible to everyone who wants to enjoy the landscape at a more relaxed pace. Both routes cross the parish's coastal trails and paths, offering stunning views over the cliffs, beaches, and the Mira River estuary.
Vila Nova de Milfontes, located within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, is known for its untouched natural landscapes and beautiful coastline. The trail routes have been designed to showcase the best of this region, passing through rural trails, dirt paths, and coastal areas of rare beauty.
For visitors, the event is an excellent way to discover the region from a different perspective, combining physical activity with nature contemplation. After the race, participants can explore the village, enjoy local gastronomy, and relax on the area's beaches.
