Prova na Vila - Aljezur Wine Festival
Aljezur hosts Prova na Vila, bringing together more than ten national and regional wine producers at Largo da Liberdade. An afternoon dedicated to discovering wines from Costa Vicentina, Serra de Monchique, and Alentejo, with unlimited tastings and direct contact with producers.
On 13 June 2026, Largo da Liberdade, in the heart of Aljezur's historic centre, will be transformed into a large open-air tasting room with the Prova na Vila event. From 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM, more than ten national and regional wine producers will gather to present their wines to the public, in a celebration of southwest Portugal's vinicultural wealth.
The initiative aims to highlight local wine production, with a special focus on the unique profiles of the Costa Vicentina, Serra de Monchique, and Alentejo. Confirmed producers include Adega do Mar, Adega do Montado, Adega dos Nascedios, Arvad, Cabrita Wines, Quinta dos Capinhas, Quinta dos Namorados, Quinta dos Sentidos, Quinta dos Vales, Sul Composto, Terra Sigilata, and Vicentino.
The entry ticket is set at 10 euros and includes the official event glass, as well as unlimited tasting access throughout the afternoon and evening. Visitors will be able to interact directly with winemakers and producers, learn the stories behind each bottle, and explore different grape varieties, winemaking methods, and terroirs.
More than just a wine fair, Prova na Vila is also a chance to discover Aljezur at the end of the day, with the Moorish castle as a backdrop and the welcoming atmosphere of the village inviting strolls through narrow streets and traditional cafés. The event is the result of a partnership between the organisers, the Aljezur Parish Council, and Turismo do Algarve, positioning itself as a cultural and tourism promotion initiative for the region.
