Nascentes Festival 2026 – Fontes Village

· Leiria

From 1 to 5 July, the village of Fontes, where the River Lis is born, becomes a living stage of music, listening and sharing. With free admission, Nascentes brings together artists from ten countries across the village's houses, gardens and open spaces.

The Nascentes Festival returns in 2026 to the picturesque village of Fontes, in the municipality of Leiria, beside the source of the River Lis, from 1 to 5 July. Under the motto "to be, pause and experience", the festival sets out to be a place of encounter, listening and transformation, where the local community opens its doors to host the programme.

Over five days, concerts and activities are spread across the houses, gardens, vegetable plots and other spaces of the village, creating an intimate and immersive experience far from the big stages. The musical programme gathers artists from Sweden, Denmark, South Korea, Germany, Turkey, Colombia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Spain and Portugal, in a celebration of sounds that cross and embrace the world.

Among the confirmed names are MADMADMAD and Vipertime (United Kingdom), Za! (Spain), the German-Turkish project Elektro Hafiz, South Korea's Dasom Baek and the Japanese-British collective WaqWaq Kingdom, alongside Portuguese artists such as BITOI and INDUS. The diversity of aesthetics and origins is the hallmark of this singular line-up.

But Nascentes goes far beyond the concerts. The programme includes sound walks led by Luís Antero, workshops for children and young people, gastronomic sessions, gathering spaces and moments of discovery. It is a proposal that invites visitors to slow down, mingle with the village's residents and experience music in a close and relaxed way.

Organised by the production company Omnichord, the festival is one of the most original cultural experiences in the Leiria region, standing out for its commitment to collective creation and the connection between artists, community and territory. Admission is free, making it accessible to families, music lovers and the simply curious.

For those visiting the region, Nascentes is a unique opportunity to discover the interior of Leiria in an authentic way, combining nature, rural life and contemporary art in a single place.
