Essência do Vinho, Porto 2026 Wine Festival

Essência do Vinho (Essence of Wine), Portugal's largest wine event, returns to the majestic Palácio da Bolsa in Porto for its 2026 edition, running from February 26 to March 1. This unmissable event brings together over 4,000 wines from more than 400 national and international producers, offering a unique experience for wine lovers and curious visitors alike.

Over four days, visitors can taste wines from every Portuguese wine region, from the Douro to the Alentejo, from Vinho Verde to the Dão, along with a curated selection of international producers. With every glass comes a story to discover, with more than 100 experts and winemakers available to share their knowledge and guide tastings.

The program includes themed workshops, wine talks, and food pairings that elevate the sensory experience. From beginners to seasoned connoisseurs, everyone finds something of value at this event celebrating the richness and diversity of Portuguese wine.

The setting could not be more inspiring: the Palácio da Bolsa, a national monument classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in Porto's historic center. Its ornate halls, including the famous Arab Room, provide a refined atmosphere that perfectly complements the sophistication of the wines on display.

Hours vary: Thursday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Tickets cost €27 for Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, and €35 for Saturday. There is also a Room Experience for €120, which includes access to 60 exclusive tastings, an official glass, finger food, live music, and general access to the event. For those visiting Porto, combining Essência do Vinho with a visit to the Port wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia makes for the perfect wine experience.
